Vintondale is a small borough in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located in the western part of the county, and had a population of 406 people, according to the 2010 census. The town was founded in the late 19th century as a coal mining town, and was incorporated in 1919.
Historically, Vintondale was known for its thriving coal industry, with several mines located in the surrounding area. The town was also home to a large coal processing plant, which was responsible for cleaning and preparing the coal for shipment. However, as the demand for coal decreased in the mid-20th century, many of the mines in the area were closed.
Today, Vintondale is a quiet residential community, with a mix of older homes and more modern developments. It is located near several state parks and recreational areas, including the Blue Knob State Park and Prince Gallitzin State Park. The town is also home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, gas station, and a few restaurants.
